College Water Polo
Water polo is played all across America's colleges and universities, and water polo players are often heralded as great student-athletes. Best of all, the opportunities to continue playing water polo in college are vast.
Collegiate Water Polo Association is comprised of colleges and universities with two classes of water polo:
1) Varsity Water Polo
2) Club Water Polo
In the varsity class, the top four teams from the Northern Division and the Southern Division qualify for the Eastern Championship.
The first-place team at the Eastern Championships qualifies for the annual NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship.
There are 45 NCAA men's varsity teams, 63 NCAA women's varsity teams, 123 Collegiate Water Polo Association club teams and 41 California junior college teams.
So altogether, we're talking about at least 227 institutions of higher learning where water polo is played!
